May 2017 Outstanding Education Award for Making a Difference In the Community From Educators 500

Your Community Adult Education Center

Speech From Sonya Sonia, BCISD Director of Matagorda County Educational Services

E4E2 is an adult education center that provides a wide range of educational services to a diverse student body. Our work includes GED prep, computer literacy, family literacy, and instruction on how to better and present oneself for success. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was founded over 5 years ago. Since then, we have grown to maintain a graduation success rate of around 90%. We credit much of our success to our four-fold process that embraces the following: educate, equip, engage, and empower.

We believe in providing high school drop-outs and other non-traditional students with an opportunity to realize their dreams—fully believing a complete education is the best way to do so. We proudly promote the personal and professional growth of all individuals, regardless of their race, gender, age, or background. We help people see that the future isn't bleak; instead, we build on careers and concepts of self-sufficiency so our students can go on to make Bay City, Texas, and the world at large, a better place. With our help, students will be engaged not just in their education, but in life overall. They will make better decisions every day as they learn how to be themselves, trust in their intuition, and take responsibility for their future.

About Us

E4E2 got its start back in 2011 when our founder discovered an overt need for adult education in our area. With over 36% of individuals in the area lacking a high school diploma or GED, we decided it was time to start giving back to our community directly. But, in order to do this, we need your help. To provide the best service available to our growing student body, we require donations and volunteers so we can continue to better equip and empower our students.

Giving our students the proper resources takes not just an education from us—they are able to join the workforce with a greater sense of self. We take great pride in helping our students realize the role they have to play in the future for themselves, their children, and our community. We empower each individual with a greater passion for society, allowing them to pursue careers in a variety of areas, from marketing to law. Join us today so you can help us build a stronger, more influential community through educational empowerment.
